TCR SOUTH AMERICA
An international race weekend resolved against the light.
FILM PHOTO STORY
An audiovisual studio in Buenos Aires. We film and photograph what does not repeat itself: a lap, a service, an entrance, a race. Then we cut it so it reads without being explained.
Motorsport and automotive are the specialty. They are not the limit.
An international race weekend resolved against the light.
Overcast, no free contrast: it holds up on composition alone.
A road car brings no context with it: you build it one.
Taking the cars off the circuit and onto the street.

Four frames from the latest TC2000 coverage in Salta: the build-up downtown, the band on track, the cockpit and the podium.

Brand pieces, aftermovies and social cuts. Direction, camera and edit in one head, so the idea does not get lost between hands.
Coverage, portrait and product. Photography that works for the team, the driver, the chef and the sponsor the day it is delivered.
Before the camera turns on: what gets told, in what order and for whom. A short outline is worth more than an extra shoot day.
Selects, grading and delivery in the formats each use needs. Material arrives ready to publish, not ready for more work.
Pick your industry and see how it gets told. If yours is missing it is because there is no published piece yet — not because it cannot be done.
The full weekend: practice, qualifying, race and pit box. Delivered same-day so the team can publish while the race still matters.
Car portraiture, static and moving. Closed garage for the shape, panning on track for the speed, and a short selection instead of two hundred identical frames.
Competition portraiture: the face before the start and the face after the flag. It serves the athlete, the sponsor and the press, from the same set.
The event is not the stage: it is the people watching it. Coverage of the build-up, the peak and the aftermath, with cuts ready to publish that same night.
A short piece that explains what the brand does without anyone having to explain it. Outline, shoot and edit; the vertical cut-downs come out of that.
Product and person in one frame, real light, no plastic. Framed for social from the start, not cropped for it afterwards.
NOT
filmed yet
Food, fashion, technology, health, music. The way of working does not change: decide what gets told, shoot it in a day, deliver it ready to publish.
Loose moments from real shoots. They last what they last and never happen again.
The main square packed twelve hours before anything starts. A race weekend begins downtown, not on the grid, and half the story is right there.
Before the start, a brass band crosses the asphalt in red uniform. It lasts ninety seconds and never happens again. Filming it is a decision made on the spot.
Two minutes of silence with the harness on, before they shut the door. It is the one frame of the whole weekend that cannot be repeated.
The podium lasts four minutes and resolves in two: the embrace and the sparks. Everything else is protocol, and protocol does not get filmed.
CIFRE.MEDIA is not an agency with a rotating crew. It is a way of working: one person decides what gets told, films it, photographs it and cuts it. Nothing gets translated twice.
Santiago Cifre. Direction, camera and grading out of Buenos Aires. Years of working trackside left a method: arrive early, decide the frame with the place still empty, and be ready when the thing happens exactly once.

MOTORSPORT — 2026
CHALLENGE
A full international race weekend, with the best light split across two twenty-minute windows and a pit lane you enter on a permit and a clock.
SOLUTION
Working with the backlight instead of fighting it: cars enter the frame against a low sun, the background falls away on its own and the bodywork is drawn by its edge. Pits in silhouette, track in full light.
PRODUCTION
Full three-day coverage — practice, qualifying and race — walking the circuit corner by corner and returning to the pits between sessions.

THE ARCHIVE 50 photographs
DOCUMENTARY — 2025
CHALLENGE
Overcast from end to end. With no sun there is no contrast handing you anything: the frame holds up on composition or it does not.
SOLUTION
Dropping the viewpoint to the ground and using the kerb, the apex and the track line as structure. And getting inside the car: the helmet, the gloves, the harness — the part of racing the broadcast never shows.
PRODUCTION
One day, on foot, alternating trackside and pit box. Cockpit portraits between sessions, no added light.

AUTOMOTIVE — 2025
CHALLENGE
A road car does not get the visual pass a race car does: no numbers, no sponsors, no pit lane behind it. The context has to be built for it.
SOLUTION
Two deliberate registers. Static inside the garage, the shed structure as a frame and the car in clean profile. And in motion, panned at a low shutter so the background dissolves and only the machine remains.
PRODUCTION
Sessions arranged with each owner, on a closed circuit, with the last hour of light reserved for the motion frames.

THE ARCHIVE 24 photographs
FILM — 2025
CHALLENGE
Taking the cars off the circuit and onto the street, city behind them, without closing an avenue for longer than agreed.
SOLUTION
A single frame planned in advance: three cars lined up mid-road, low viewpoint, the avenue opening out behind them. One shot, done.
PRODUCTION
A short street-closure window, with the framing decided before the cars arrived.
